Why is proper wax processing important?
The foundation of high-quality foundation sheets is pure, verified-origin beeswax. Our goal is to process the wax brought by beekeepers with the utmost care and ensure that the final product meets the expectations of beekeeping operations in every respect—whether for personal use or return processing.
From Hungarian beekeepers, from reliable sources
We source our raw materials exclusively from domestic beekeepers. We do not use imported wax of uncertain origin. This guarantees that all processed or return-manufactured wax is traceable and of excellent quality.
Multi-stage, modern purification process
1. Water boiling
The raw wax is first melted in water. This step helps remove impurities found in the wax, such as propolis, royal jelly, and other organic residues.
2. Four-stage settling
The melted wax is then settled multiple times—typically in four stages. During settling, heavier impurities such as wax particles, wax hammer fragments, metal shavings, or other foreign materials settle to the bottom and are removed. This process is particularly important for the homogeneity and purity of the wax.
3. Sterilization
The filtered wax is sterilized at high temperature to destroy pathogens and spores (e.g., American foulbrood pathogens) that could threaten the health of bee colonies. This step is essential for safe reintroduction.
4. Preparation for rolling
The completely purified and sterilized wax is poured into molds and cooled to create rollable blocks. These blocks are then rolled into thin sheets of foundation thickness with a precise honeycomb cell pattern.
Processing your own wax
into foundation sheets
For quantities over 100 kg, we offer beekeepers the option to receive foundation sheets made from their own wax. The wax brought in is handled completely separately and individually: we subject it to multi-stage purification, sterilize it, and then produce new foundation sheets through rolling.
Processing cut-out frames
We process cut-out, used frames from apiaries using our high-capacity steam-wax centrifuge. This method efficiently and completely extracts the still-valuable wax, which we can return purified upon request.
